The Mini Hookah

By John McCree

In a world with Mini-Golf, Mini-Cooper, and M&M Minis, why not have a mini-hookah? Now, before we assume that mini hookahs were conceived just because of creative monotony, take into account that the traditional hookah has some distinct drawbacks, which the mini hookah addresses quite nicely.

The biggest disadvantage with a conventional hookah is the size. It is has many parts and a few of those parts are fragile. If you ever wish to bring your hookah with you on a vacation or to a friend's house it would be extremely difficult; pretty much impossible.

But this isn't the case with mini hookahs

At the time you buy a mini hookah, you get a travel case, which can be useful for quick and easy packing of the hookah. While not being used, this same case works well for keeping the hookah clean.

The top three advantages of mini hookahs are:

1. Effortless to transport

2. Occupies less space in your own home

3. Very economical

What's the Real Difference?

What differentiates mini hookahs from the conventional hookahs is the size. There are some other differences between mini hookah and a traditional hookah.

First off, the major difference is the length of the body, or stem. While an average hookah stem may consist of 50-75% of the total hookah height, it's generally less than 50% with a mini. The size of the hose and the size of the water jar are also small.

Nonetheless, a number of aspects of a hookah just can't be changed, at least not to the extent of the stem and water jar. Such as, the size of the bowl is equivalent to the average hookah. Regardless of whether you're smoking from a typical or mini, the quantity of tobacco and length of smoking session are similar. Other things that are not different are the diameter of the hose and the diameter of the stem. Or else, the hookah would restrict air flow and not allow for a pleasant smoking experience. So you can say that mini hookah is a more compact traditional hookah, but some parts of the hookah are kept consistent with its counterpart for the reasons of functionality.

The Case You Will Get

As mentioned, a distinct benefit of the mini hookah is the option to carry it in the case for travel and safety purposes. Much like hookahs, cases themselves can come in many styles and sizes. Hard cases which look like small trunks can be purchased for maximum protection. Such as a trunk, a latch is used to lock the case. Inside the case, there are separate compartments for every part of the hookah. Hookah components are fragile especially the bowl and the water jar. Using a hard carry case, helps to ensure that you do not break any part when transporting your hookah.

There are soft carrying cases as well. Like hard cases, they often have several compartments to arrange and store the hookah and accessories. Instead of a latch, the soft cases are secured by a zipper and to protect the breakable parts with some form of padding inside the case.

At the time you buy a mini hookah, you will receive a carrying case for it.

Where to Look for a Mini Hookah?

If you're interested in physically looking for your very own mini hookah, your best bet is to locate a hookah shop in your area. If you like shopping online, a quick Google search can help point you to a number of great hookah resources.
