Jerusalem, the capital of Israel is one of the most important places to visit. It depicts the rich history of the people of Israel. The travelers can see many kinds of religions in the state. Tourists go in great numbers to see its unique cultural heritage, historical background, and religious beliefs. One has to visit many places to know more about the history of Israel.

Jerusalem is the place of origin for three major religions in the world. Quite naturally there are quite a few religious places from all these religions in Israel including the churches, which are the best and must see places in Israel. The Holy Sepulchre church is located in the Christian hub of the old Israel. Christ was crucified and later buried here. A visit to this church is a wonderful experience forever. Hurva Synagogue, which was once regarded as one of the most legendary synagogues of Israel, is another historic place in the Jewish dominated part of the city. For those wanting to get a glimpse of the Jewish history of the place, this is a must see. Then there is the mosque and the Dome of the Rock, which is the heritage of Muslim ancestry in the city. But, as non-Muslim visitors are not allowed inside, one has to get the glimpse of the Muslim history from the museums located nearby.

Jerusalem has many rich museums scattered across it. Each museum has different stories to tell. The Ammunition Hill Memorial commemorates the efforts of those who sacrificed their lives in the Six Day war in 1967. The Time Elevator tells the general History of Jerusalem. The Western wall in the Jewish Quarter of the old city is important for its holy history.

Tourists looking for a unique experience should explore the many parks, including Independence Park with its beautiful landscapes, the Botanical Gardens, the Gilo Park, and the Liberty Bell Gardens. Also, the Biblical Zoo will capture the interest of all ages with its varied collection of creatures.

Moreover, the parliament building also called, as "the Knesset" is also a place to visit without fail. From this building one can simply view and judge the political side of Jerusalem.

The Garden tomb is believed to be the place of Christ's burial. This is one of the historical sites to visit. The Gethsemane Garden is just outside the boundary of Jerusalem walls. This is the place where Christ is believed to have asked for help and prayer amidst his trying times. This garden has a number of olive trees.

Jerusalem has many popular locations known for shopping sites. To name a few, the Nahalat Shiva in Western Jerusalem, the Souq in Jaffa Street, and Brasserie in Ein Keram are the attractive locations.

The amazing feel of Jerusalem and its rich background are the reasons for the travelers to flock to this city, and also they learn a lot from its history, faith, religion, culture, tradition and modernity for whose interests vary from one to another.
