Did you know some of the most engaging places to go to in Ohio included castles? This is just one of the surprising things you will find out about this state when you choose Ohio as your holiday location. There are such a lot of activities, events and festivals as well as everyday sites to see that you'll not have the time to visit them all. That is all right because once you visit; you will want to come back.

Talking of castles as one of the places to visit in Ohio, there are at least six and perhaps more you can check out. Sidney, Ohio is the position of one. The Great Stone Castle is also a bed-and-breakfast so you can get a little taste of what it was like for people that enjoyed castle life. The castle is made from limestone that's 18 inches deep. A massive porch wraps around the castle and stone columns support this particular part of the structure. The rooms have your own personal bath; they are furnished with Victorian era furniture and have fires.

One of the places to visit in Ohio that you will not wish to miss is found in Chillicothe. The Sugarloaf Mountain Amphitheatre is the setting for Tecumseh. This show is a re-enactment of Tecumseh, the Shawnee clan leader. The time is the 1700s and battles are raging. You will see the cannons as they're shot and feel the beat of the horse's hooves as they trot through battle. This is a superb show that you shouldn't miss.

Sandusky, Ohio is the location to seek out if you have children. This is one of the best places to visit in Ohio if you want to see the "roller coaster capital of the world." There are rides for all ages. The small ones can enjoy Kiddy Kingdom, Planet Snoopy, the Gemini Children's Area and Camp Snoopy. For those who are brave enough there are lots of rides for the young and sprightly. There are water rides, thrill rides and roller-coasters, which includes Calypso, Chaos, Matterhorn and the Magicians ' Wheel, simply to name a few.

The Columbus Zoo is a must see if you're hunting for places to visit in Ohio. There are many sections of the zoo that house the numerous species that live here. Animal Encounters Hamlet, My Barn, Kangaroo Walkabout and the Reptile Keeper Lab are merely a few of the ones you will like. When visiting the Columbus Zoo, you will see mammals, reptiles, birds and amphibians.
