Christmas Trees For the Family

By Chris Zalensky

What sort of family Christmas tree will you select this year? It doesn't be important if you choose an actual tree or an aluminum Christmas tree. The important part is how you spend time together with your family and friends this Holiday year. Celebrating Christmas is at the heart of my family's traditions, and I expect it is among yours as well. But regardless of the way you celebrate, take a little extra time this year to enjoy this extraordinary season with your family.

One of the most important perks to having an artificial tree is that you can buy one that will last for more that just a couple of years. Top quality models can be purchased for a hundred dollars or so, but some of the custom made or limited offer models can cost a thousand dollars or even more.

But what are the downfalls of this type of tree. Of course, with a real tree, you get the pine forest smell in your house. With an artificial one, you just don't get that little touch. Also, with artificial ones, they could start to look old after a few years. The one that my family had as a kid looked great in the 70's, but it would look terrible now.

One of the things that most people miss about not having a real tree is the fact that the smell is missing. Just get a pine scented candle. Some people even like them better.

The most important thing about having a real Christmas tree just has to be the smell. The smell is what makes Christmas, at least it does for me any way. Yes candles are enough for a lot of people, but they just don't get it in my opinion. Artificial trees just don't have the feeling of Christmas that I need.

Obviously, real trees do have a lot of disadvantages. First of all, no matter how good you take care of your tree, the simple fact is, it is going to shed needles, hundreds and thousands of needles!
