The area around Watch Hill Beach was first developed as a resort in the early twentieth century. People from Boston and New York were looking for places to go to beat the summer heat and humidity. Guests are sure of a warm welcome and every step is taken to ensure that their stay is perfect.

Most people want to stop off and do a little shopping. There are some outstanding local craft stores where shoppers can meet the artisans themselves. Many people are quite happy to show their visitors their unique crafts and even let the kids have a try at making something.
