A Present Of A Plush Unicorn And A Birthday Party

By Ines Brennan

A plush unicorn would mostly be considered as a perfect gift for a little girl, however, with the right colors, there is no reason why it shouldn't be chosen for a boy either. Most toy unicorns, though, are made in pinks and purples, and perhaps with white as the main color, as white is how the once 'real' unicorns were described. If such a birthday gift has been chosen for your daughter, then it will be perfect to arrange the whole party around a theme of unicorns.

Most people have heard of unicorns, and known that they sport this magnificent horn on the tops of their heads. What some don't know, however, is that the creature is magical, with special powers. In ancient times, the horn was believed to have prevented harm from poisons, and to have powers that could help sick people. The animal was thought to have thrived in dense forests, and to run alone.

Even though there are so many stories about unicorns, no one really knows if they ever existed. The fantasy of them, however, is completely enchanting for a child. Most little girls delight in the idea of riding a horned horse, or even having one as a pet. A birthday party of unicorns would therefore be such fun.

Regarding the present, however, you should not have any trouble finding stuffed animals in the shape of unicorns. They are sold big, and small, and spotted with stars and rainbows, and in all colors of the rainbow as well. They usually have lovely long manes and tails, and therefore a comb to go with it will be lots of fun. Perhaps you can even have the name of the birthday girl placed somewhere on the 'pony', just to make it especially intriguing.

Around the party room, mystical creatures cut out of paper can be exciting, and plenty of trees and flowers should also be added. This will create an enchanted forest look. Large colored cloths could act as wall coverings, or could be used as the night sky, especially if they are decorated in flowers and stars.

If you are able to cut out the natural lighting of the room, add some rows of soft lights along the ceiling, and use them instead. Some could even flash. This will create a wonderful, dark enchanted forest feel.

All the table decorations, such as tablecloth, plates, cups, party boxes and serviettes could be adorned with the mystical creature. The cake, of course, must be suitable as well. To add some fun, use ice-cream cones in a clever way as the horns of unicorns. Perhaps the children could dip then in chocolate, or ice them, and then decorate them with sweets and sparkles.

If your child loves horses, then consider hiring a pony. Make a horn to go on the pony's head, if he doesn't mind. A fun party game is to let the children sit in a circle, and have music at hand. Give them a horned-pony to pass from one to the other, and stop the music at intervals. Give a prize, or let the child who is holding the pony when the music stops leave the game. Once all is done, the plush unicorn present will keep the magic going.
