The hookah smokers prefer the popular fruity flavors like apple, banana or mango. But, there are a lot of new and creative flavors in the market such as Starbuzz's "Blue Mist". The vast majority of newer flavors do, however, take their cues from the tried and tested traditional fruit flavors. Flavors like Apple pie, blueberry muffin and banana split are among the more popular ones.

Because of the improved production procedures, it has become very simple to add flavors to shisha and therefore a wide range of flavors is available out there. Unique flavors are made because essentially every ingredient can be mixed in dried, tobacco, glycerin and sweetener.

Social Smoking

Hookah is normally shared in a social environment where the smokers may gather for pleasant chat and to enjoy the fragrance produced by the flavored shisha smoke. As hookahs grew in popularity through the Middle East centuries ago, it became common to see them in eating and drinking establishments. You can easily find hookahs in nightclubs, smoking parlors, hookah bars and even in homes these days.

A great deal of the increasing popularity of shisha can be credited to the flavor and calming effect of the smoke. People smoke hookah in social gatherings with the key purpose of socializing with friends and not out of addiction. On the contrary cigarette to begin with, has a very bad smell and smokers generally smoke cigarette because of addiction. A cigarette undoubtedly lasts no more than 5 minutes and a shisha lasts for more than an hour, but the latter is not addictive.

Getting the Most Flavor from Your Hookah

If you wish to improve your hookah experience, then you just have to adhere to a few basic acts of sound judgment. For starters, cleaning and maintaining your device correctly is a must. After every smoking session you need to wash your hookah. It is better to wash hookah with warm water than with cold water.

If you wish to have a smooth smoking session then you should stop the charcoal from burning the tobacco during the session. The tobacco shouldn't get stuck to the foil, better yet, the tobacco should not even touch the foil. When you are packing the bowl, be sure the tobacco is at least a couple of millimeters below the rim of the bowl. So that when you wrap the aluminum foil, there is distance between the tobacco and the aluminum foil. You can also place two toothpicks crossed on top of the mound to ensure space between the shisha and foil. Additionally, when "packing" the bowl, don't pack the tobacco down firmly. A loose mound of tobacco that will allow the air to pass through it is perfect. Doing so, you will be able to get a flavorful hit without having to strongly puff on the hose. In order to prevent overheating some people use two sheets of aluminum foil. The principle is simple don't burn the shisha.
