What Else To Do In San Antonio, Besides The Main Attractions

By Alex Johnson

Most people visiting the city of San Antonio tend to be drawn by the obvious stuff like the Alamo, which is great, don't get me wrong, but there's far more to this city. I want to share with you quite a few more things. Since I'm assuming you're aware of things like the six-flags, the zoo, the aquarium, I won't even be mentioning those.

This city seems to almost be created and made for golfers. This isn't just because of the massive number of courses. It's also because of their quality, which is largely unseen in most other cities. Your problem will be trying to pick just one course. The courses that I most often like to reference include the Cedar Creek Golf Course, the Dominion Country, Woodlake golf club and Mission Del Lago Municipal Golf Course.

If you're of an artisan nature or just in the fine arts, this city has you covered once again! The obvious first mention is having a visit with mister Gougin and mister Picasso over at the McNay art museum. Next, a general stroll through the artisan disctrict known as la villita might also suit you. If you're into freebies, go check out the always free exhibitions at the southwest school of art & craft.

If you're into the more general museum, be sure to check out San Antonio children's museum, the texas air museum, the Texas transportation museum and the institute of Texan cultures. Another fascinating thing to go take a look at is the scobee planetarium. Also be sure to the witte museum, a science and natural history museum a fair tour, you might just like it!

If you like taking strolls through time, La Villita, the city's oldest neighborhood deserves a primary mention. If you're in the same spirit of seeing old architecture, see the Stevens building, which is a remnant of the 19th century commercial district, and please also pay a visit to the Staacke Brothers building and the Spanish governor's place.
