How to Draw Manchego Cheese

By Celina Cordeiro

This day and age often surprises us with many obligations, and we easily run out of time to make a fancy dinner or to spend a ton of time in the kitchen. With some suggestions and a little imagination, you can make a miracle with manchego cheese. You don't have to be in Spain to make tapas, you have to be in your kitchen. Take some manchego (depending how many servings you want to have), and slice it nicely on a plate. Even better, serve this on a cutting board. When you're done with cheese, take some tasty ham, and also slice it nicely. Arrange green olives around the cheese and ham, and some quince paste if you have. Serve with crusty bread and enjoy!

Running out of time, but want to make a nice and quick meal for your guests? Try this one, it takes about ten minutes, and it'll make everyone ask for more. Take a piece (approximately a pound) of manchego cheese, half a pound of thinly slices serano ham (to slice it thinly use a sharp knife), some olive oil (preferably extra virgin) and black pepper, preferably freshly ground. Slice manchego and the ham, but try to make the pieces the same size. Arrange them nicely on a plate or platter, putting first ham, then manchego, then ham, and so on. Drizzle the olive oil on top, and decorate with the pepper.

People all over the world love pizza and deeply cherish and enjoy the cult. Some prefer making their own pizza dough, some prefer buying the dough which is ready made. So, take the pizza dough ( I always recommend you make it yourself), and cover it with tomato passata (you can also make instead of buying it), add sliced fresh tomatoes on it, add some herbs and sliced manchego on top, and you'll have a lovely Spanish pizza.

There are three types of manchego, the fresh one (fresco), the medium one (curado), and the aged one, (viego). Manchego curado is like an encyclopedia of possible ways to serve it. Some are complicated, some aren't, and one of the simple ones follows: Take some Granny Smith apples, wash them, peel them and slice them. Then take some manchego curado, chives, olive oil, smoked almonds and some apple cider vinegar, and mix it all up. You'll have a lovely salad. Serve with red wine.

Take 3 tbsp sugar, half a pound of thick asparagus (chop off the dry ends), some extra virgin olive oil, freshly ground black pepper, sea salt, 4 ounces roasted ham (finely sliced) and 7 ounces grated, young manchego. Take a few quarts of cold water and dissolve the sugar in it. Leave asparagus soaking in it for an hour or two. Preheat your oven to 425 degrees. Take a pan, line it with foil and evenly distribute the asparagus. Drizzle with olive oil, and roll so they're coated. Scatter the cheese and ham over it, add more olive oil if you want, and bake until the cheese is melted.

Want to make something romantic and sexy that will remind you and the partner of Spanish nights? If you don't have enough ideas, ingredients or time, make sure you get a baguette, some garlic jam, or really finely chopped garlic, and manchego cheese. Also, if you want to enjoy fully, have some good red wine. Toast the baguette, put the garlic jam on it, and add the manchego. Dim the light, ply some slow music, pour the wine into the glasses, and travel to Spain
