Hotel Ghost Stories

By Ted Janiskowski

Consider this scenario: You enter your hotel room, plop down your bag and you catch someone walk by in the corner of your eye.

What should you do?

Should you run screaming? Should you demand a refund? Should you call Egon Spangler and the rest of the Ghostbusters crew?

Don't worry, your room is probably just haunted.

Sounds terrifying, right? It's not. I remember something my grandmother once told me: Ghosts don't eat much, and they won't bother you.

As horrible as it might sound, your best option is to sit back and relax. Ghosts might seem scary, but in my experiences, they never really cause harm.

Of course that's simple for your's truly to say, because I'm not the person sitting in a haunted hotel room.

But alas, the best thing to do is to stay cool, try to not worry and try to get a great night's sleep.

Think about it this way: You paid hard earned money for your hotel room, right? So why are you going to let something ruin your experience? Especially something who doesn't even exist in our spiritual world?

If you have a personal method to go to sleep, this would be a good time to try it. Some people count sheep, others listen to music. Regardless, you'll need to do something to take your mind off the scary feeling you've got. Once you do this, you'll be okay.

And remember, there are haunted hotels throughout the world, so don't feel like you are cursed. In fact, hotels from the North Pole to the southern tip of South America have crazy ghosts stories.

And try to make the best of the situation, just think of the interesting stories you can tell your friends, family and coworkers when you get back! That alone might be worth the night in the end!
