These kiosks, normally operate through a touchscreen system. The system is driven by your confirmation number or the credit card number you used to purchase your tickets. Once you pull up your name, you can begin the check-in process. You will be asked whether or not, you need a boarding pass. If you need the boarding pass, it will automatically print out for you. After this, whether or not you have any baggage to be checked.

You need to check what the fees for baggage will be in advance, you do not want to be shocked, once you get to the airport. You are allowed one carry-on if you decide to put luggage on the plane. You may want to weigh your bags before you leave home. Some key things to remember when making a luggage purchase are, get something that is lightweight and that fits within the required height.

There are numerous rules regarding airport security, since the 911 attacks. A passenger is not allowed to carry, firearms, a knife, box cutter or scissors over 4 inches in their carry-on bag. Even sporting items, such as, baseball bats, and golf clubs must be part of checked in baggage. Guns and other firearms, can be checked, if the passenger has the proper permits.

Jacket, coats, and shoes are to be removed and placed in a bin. All checked luggage is subject to a separate screening process. All passengers have to be scanned. Each individual has to go through metal detection. It is necessary to remove metal objects, such as jewelry, coins and belts and place in bin. If you set an alarm off during the time you are scanned, you will be screened further, either by a wand or pat down.

Whether you are traveling for business or please, always remember to get to the airport, at least 2 hours before your time of departure. Also, try to exercise patience, when having to go through the security checkpoints. Keep the amount of luggage and the size at a minimum for faster boarding.
