The Proper Method For Changing Hankook Tires

By Mario J. Starner

Anytime you are going down the road when one of your Hankook tires suddenly goes flat, it would be in your best interest to know a thing or two about switching out that tire. Unfortunately, there are many drivers on the road these days that have no clue of how they would go about changing the tire on their car, but they should be doing everything they can to learn how. In order to help educate some of the folks out there with little to no understanding of how this task works, the main details have been written out below.

First things first, if you are going to switch out a tire, you are going to have to have the proper tools, which are a jack to lift the car, a lug wrench to remove the tire, and a spare tire to replace the bad one. Unless you have ESP, there's no way you canpredict when a tire is going to blow out, but as long as you are wise enough to keep the tools you need in your vehicle everywhere you go, you will always be prepared for when the situation arises.

When you are going down the road and find that your tire is flat, you have to be careful not to overreact, because a bad reaction, like swerving or slamming on breaks can cause an accident. You want to remain absolutely calm and start slowing down until you find a level spot off the road somewhere that you can safely park in.

Once you have parked the car, you can get out your car jack and find a sturdy part of the frame that is close to the wheel well where you can jack the car up at. With the tire still firmly on the ground, you want to take your lug wrench and loosen up all of the lug nuts without actually taking any off them off of their studs. Now, just jack up the car, take off all of the lug nuts, pull off whatever remains of the tire that blew out, and put your spare tire in its place.

After that it is only a matter of retracing your steps in the reverse order, so replace your nuts, let the car down, and tighten the nuts back up. You ought to now be ready to put your tools away and get your Hankook tires back on the road without a hitch.
