Midwest Air is considered a small regional air carrier. But even though it is regional in service destinations, it also has international flights to locations in Mexico as well as Costa Rica. Based out of Milwaukee Wisconsin, Midwest services and flies from this area as well. The recent buzz about Midwest is that they are in the process of merging with Frontier Airlines. The merger began in the first quarter of 2010 and will last well into 2011 before it's complete which is still good news for both companies. We are likely to see exciting developments out of the merger so watch for those in the months to come.

Transitioning the various programs unique to each company during a merger can become quite complex. Midwest has had their Midwest Miles MasterCard service for the benefit of their customers. Passengers earn extra miles by using this card for travel and other purchases. But there is nothing to worry about with their accumulated miles. If you are one of the lucky people who have this card you will still earn miles for the purchases you make with the card. Near the end of 2010 all Midwest cardholders will have been moved over to a Frontier Mastercard program with the same programs available for earning extra miles and points. The transition to Frontier will be much more simple due to the fact that Barclay's Bank is the card issuer for both airlines.

It is common for smaller carriers to avoid first class seating arrangements. Because there are some people who simply won't fly any other way these airlines have implemented a unique program to give them a little extra piece of space. They have a program called, STRETCH, and it applies to the first four rows of seats. This program allows you get gain 5 inches of usable travel space in the designated rows which is more than enough for the average person to deal with.

All right, we have reviewed the first couple of points concerning exotic car rentals, of course you recognize they play an important role. However is that all there is? Not by a long shot - you really can broaden your knowledge greatly, and we will help you. We feel you will find them to be very helpful in a lot of ways. Once your knowledge is more complete, then you will feel more confident about the subject. The rest of the article will provide you with a few more essential points to bear in mind.

Most people are concerned over the weight of their luggage and whether or not there will be a fee incurred for heavy baggage. The average acceptable baggage weight for Midwest is 50 pounds or less. The Minimum fee that you could be charged if your bag goes over the allotment of weight is in the area of about $75.00. Your overweight bags are what will incur this fee. If this applies to you it may behoove you to read the airlines rules and regulations online before you travel for exceptions that might be available to you or fees you need to be aware of.

The choice of which smaller, and perhaps regional, air carrier to use is often determined by where you will be flying. It's important to research your regional airline for best selection of destinations. This is one reason this is such a great merger, the destinations will increase for both carriers. Prior to the merger Midwest was known for its benefits often being comparable to larger airlines.
